Introduction
IMG Worlds of Adventure(Official website:https://www.imgworlds.com/ )is the world’s best and largest indoor theme park. It is also the first mega themed entertainment destination in Dubai. Covering an area in excess of 1.5 million square feet and packing full of immersive thrills, IMG Worlds provides visitors from around the world with excitement and epic adventure. This project aims to provide a total redesign for this theme park application.
User Research
Since IMG worlds located in Dubai, I can not reach the real visitor offline. So I choose Trip Advisor, the most popular travel review website, as my platform to make a survey with enough samples. With the powerful system provided by Trip Advisor, we can easily find details about the people who have actually been there and get the first-hand data and information to analyze our target audiences. I collect 1357 reviews as for my survey samples. After that, we are able to create persona for IMG World visitors by analyzing data and screening the reviews.
Following the four parts of segmentation, which includes demographic, geographic, psychographic and behavioral, these pie charts provide valuable data for the design. Families are the most common traveler type for IMG World, which accounts for up to 57 percent of all visitors. And the charts also shows the variety in visitors. Apart from the Arabic visitors, Asia and English-speaking country visitors also show passion in IMG Worlds. In this case, we can tell that IMG World is more likely to be a holiday spot for international tourists, rather than a regular visit for locals. “Place for kids” is also a selling point for IMG that corresponds to the frequent kid-related comments (331/1357).
Persona
According to the survey and analysis from last page, we now can create persona for IMG Worlds based on the real customer who pay a real visit to the site in Dubai.
